About

The holy temple of Bijli Mahadev, which is situated in the Kullu Valley and stands at an elevation of approximately 2,460 metres. Embarking on the Bijli Mahadev hike, one can relish the companionship of tall trees and breathtaking views. it is an ideal trek for beginners as well as travellers.

The gleaming 60-foot staff of Bijli Mahadev can be spotted from a considerable distance. According to mythology, the temple is struck by lightning every year, earning it the name Lightning Temple. The lightning strike alters the position of the Shiva Linga, which is then reattached by the temple priest using sattu and butter as an adhesive.
